The Digital Warrior

The Digital Warrior
TSP's idea on creating a paintball warrior that is all about the stats.

What is the digital Warrior?

The Digital warrior is a player that is equiped to keep track of his performance on the Scenario field. Scenario games do have quick action, but most the game is drawn out and a players paintball life could last for hours before he is shot. Keeping tabs on his game can be enhanced by adding certain hardware to his gear.

The Hopper A hopper can add to counting the amount of paint you use in a single life session. Some models come with a LCD screen.

Range Finder Range finders can accuratley tell you how far away your opponent is. What if your paintball shots are falling incredibly closer than you thought. Wouldn't you like to know what kind of accuracy your getting on your marker. A rangefinder would help you keep up with the changing conditions your marker is going through, via weather, performance or pnuematics.

Electronic Grips This grips come with a LCD panel that displays the amount of paint your shooting,a self timer, and what firing mode you are in.

Heads Up Display(HUD) An Idea at the moment. Basically like what you see in video games where and LCD shows where you and your teammates locations are on the field and what position you are pointing in. A member of your team can log himself off the location network when he is hit out, thus taking his presence off the LCD map. The hardware already exist in various forms and is being tested by the military. One of them is called Land Warrior and here , and here. But Military Models cost millions,so what can the average paintballer afford? Many have suggested GPS and some teams such as Xtreme Fanatics even tested such devices, but tossed away the notion because of little value to their game. GPS devices can be very expensive and to ask many players from on your team to make such a purchase can be too costly. So how can this idea be licked from another direction. Bee and whale tracking. Scientist have been using Radar to track animals in the wild for some time now. This could be a less combersome way of establishing something to the same ends.

Communications Different radio setups are also part of the Digital Warrior. Different sets of ear mics, and cord configurations can easily be set up with parts from Radio Shack.
